Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I aim to provide a relaxed, safe and informative environment for you to enjoy creating your very own piece of glass art.

How do I book?

Contact me to tell me which type of glass fusing experience you'd like to book with a couple of dates of when you can come.
After we agree a date and time I'll send you a confirmation booking form.

How do I pay?
Payment is on the day by cash or cheque.

Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes, of course,  but please give me at least a week's notice.

Where is the glass studio?
Just outside Moorsholm, between Guisborough and Whitby, North Yorkshire.
Directions are on the booking form.
Car parking is in the yard by the studio. Please note we are a working farm with a concrete yard which is uneven with loose stones in places. Don't worry, the farm dog will be safely out of the way during workshops!

What should I wear?

Health & Safety
Wear comfortable shoes with closed toes. You'll be standing for most of the time with high stools to rest on. No high heels, sandals or open toes! Trousers not stuffed into boots either so stray bits of glass can't get lodged. Because you'll be bending over your lovely glass make sure hair and clothes won't get in the way.  Safety glasses will be provided and a safety briefing given before we start.  It's all common sense really!
Access
There is a small step up into the studio and the house, where there is a downstairs toilet for you to use.

Is it suitable for children?
Yes! They love it but should be 12 or over (old enough to listen carefully when shown how to safely cut and handle the glass and strong enough to physically manipulate a glass cutter) A responsible adult should accompany the child but does not have to pay unless they wish to have a go too!

What is included?

All materials will be provided for you to design and create your glass.
You are welcome to take photos of your glass making in the studio. We use Bullseye CoE90 glass which ensures all colours are compatible when heating and cooling in my Nabertherm Kiln.

What refreshments are included?
A 'cuppa' before your session starts while I show you around. Coffee tea and water are 'on tap' for all sessions with biscuits, and a light lunch and cake for full day workshops!
Do bring a bottle of water if you'd prefer and let me know of any allergies on the booking form

When can I collect my glass?
Usually your glass will be fired and ready to collect  in 3-5 days!
